Gift Certificates
A Gift Certificate is a way of making sure that you allow the recipient to choose what he/she really wants.
You just buy the gift certificate and send it to this person. You can have this certificate posted to the recipient (Print Certificate) or else he/she can activate it and order the goods from the Art1st website (Electronic Certificate).
To receive a gift certificate you need to enter into “my account”, or create a new account, pay for the certificate and then name the certificate.
Art1st offers two kinds of Gift Certificates:
a. The Printed Gift Certificate
b. The Electronic Gift Certificate
Please note: Electronic and Printed Certificates can not be interchangeable
======================
a. Printed Gift Certificates
If the recipient visits Deruta and you decide for a Print Gift Certificate, we will print the Certificate and ensure certified delivery of the same to the recipient with a “Best wishes from the “donour”” card.
The recipient will be able to use the Print Certificate in any of the Art1st shops up to the maximum value of the certificate. He will be able to buy from more than one shop as he wishes. The Certificate will have a maximum validity of six months from issuance (legal requirement)
b. Electronic Gift Certificates
If you decide to buy an Electronic Gift Certificate you will need to transfer the information about this named certificate, including the password, to the recipient.
WE STRONGLY ADVISE that, if you use email or similar electronic means to transfer the secret information, you send two messages, the first with the name of the beneficiary, the second with the secret password, without reference to the name. You could also split the secret password in two.
The recipient can then begin his/her buying spree within the limit set by the certificate.
Of course, there are strong security limitations regarding the issuance of certificates:
1. They are assigned a uniquely randomized unbreakeable code
2. They can be issued only once and they must be named with the beneficiary’s name immediately.
3. They are closed once the spending reaches its top limit plus a maximum of 3% (ie. if the certificate is worth 1000 Euro you will be allowed maximum spending for 1030 Euro) or the remaining sum is too small to allow for the acquisition of other goods
4. They expire within three months of issuance.
Unused certificates can be refunded up to 70% of their value if expired.
