The Table Lamp Collection Maioliche Originali Deruta (MOD) Autori MOD’s ceramics are sold the world over and the company has long been established as the most innovative ceramics manufacturer in Deruta, Italy.
Its modern history begun some 50 years back when its gifted founder, Antonio Ranocchia, decided to set up an independent operation following a number of years of employment in some of the best known Deruta ceramics manufacturers of the time. MOD Autori has expanded ever since, introducing innovation after innovation. As has long been the tradition in Deruta's history, where descendants learn and apply the skills of their fathers and forefathers, the manufacturing and shop facility is now owned by Ivan and Grazia Ranocchia, respectively the son and daughter of the original owner. Grazia Ranocchia is well known as the author of the acclaimed "Deruta: Manufacturers and Ceramics, 1920 - 1960" a publication that has sold in thousands of copies and is used as a text book for students and experts in the field. MOD Autori is now taking advantage of the full palette of colours - finally available to ceramists -, of its technical skills and of its profound knowledge of history, art and ceramics to introduce “enveloping art” by faithfully painting masterpieces on to convex ceramic objects. The “Pieter Bruegel the Elder” Collection is the first in the world to be painted on table lamps. How to Order, Prices, Contact Orders are received and dealt with on a first come first served basis until exhaustion. There is no guarantee that a specific model will still be available at time of receipt of the order. Each of the lamps require a long production process. At time of going to press the waiting list is of about three months. Lamps are sold at recommended prices only from MOD Autori (prices, address below). Brochures can be received on demand from MOD Autori or through one of MOD Autori's appointed agents in the USA, Europe or South East Asia (list available from MOD Autori). Prices vary depending on the characteristics, mainly the degree of difficulty and fullness, of each of the original paintings. Lamp shades in this web-site, especially created for the Bruegel Collection, are for demonstration purposes only; table lamps owners may be interested in variations that match their furniture.
